Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children who faithfully follow Jesus Christ!
Awana has a nearly 60-year track record for building an enduring biblical faith in the lives of children.
What happens in an Awana meeting? Awana meetings last for 90 minutes and are divided into 3 sections: Handbook Time provides small-group interaction and recitation of Scripture the children learned during the week. It also features friendship building and opportunities for leaders to mentor children and help them understand the Bible verses they learn. Large Group Time consists of praise and worship, Bible teaching, awards, announcements and a presentation of God’s plan of salvation. Game time provides an opportunity for God-honoring sportsmanship and reinforces Biblical Principles.
SBBC is currently able to provide the Awana program for the following age groups:
Cubbies celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers (3- to 5-year olds) by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word.
Sparks ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age children (K – 2nd grade) to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.
Truth &Training engages 3rd – 6th graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace.
